If this is some sort of joke it's in very poor taste.

Wow! This is so cool, like something out of a manga! My friends will be so jealous that they're not here to see this. I hope I'm not the only one here though, a little kid could get into a lot of trouble all by himself in a big city like this!

Does anyone know how I -- we? -- got here? Japan is super far away, and I definitely don't remember a plane ride. Ran-neesan says that if something weird happens I should call for help, but the emergency numbers on my phones go to dead air.

I've had my All-Mate scan the area and it seems to be just the four of us. I don't trust "X" either, but I also have a hard time trusting a brat who uses such adult language.

And should I trust an adult who uses such childish language? Where do you come from that a basic ability to communicate via reading and writing (or typing as the case may be) is a reason for distrust?

Because the brats I'm used to aren't so articulate. If you insist, I can use the language I was raised on.

Maybe education is better where you come from, which is good. So I'll give you that.

So, what are you planning to do?

Education probably isn't better, no. I've always been something of a special case, intellectually.

I'm not yet sure. My first step will likely be to set up a base of operations. The Empire State Building isn't an appropriate place to live, but I think I'd like to find something near here. On 5th Avenue itself, or in the Flatiron district perhaps.

You're a regular little investigator, aren't you? I'm going to have the usagimodoki figure out the best place to stay. Maybe we can come up with some sort of deal. I don't hand out information for free, after all.

I think I'll rely on my own guidance, in regards to a place to live. I'm probably the most familiar with New York of everyone here thus far. Information relevant to our current situation however is, of course, always useful.

I'm going to be gathering information about out situation, so if I find anything, we can trade info. My All-Mates are pretty useful when it comes to scanning the perimeter of the city, and detecting life.

Quick question for my own information gathering purposes: did you also arrive at the Empire State Building? Of not, where?

It's a computer/companion type technology. Most come in the form of animals, but mine are rabbit cubes. They can be used as computers, GPS, entertainment systems, and they are used in Rhyme.

According to the Usagimodoki, I arrived at the top floor of the Empire State building.

To be precise for my notes, that would be the 103rd floor, correct? Above the upper observation deck?

Yeah. You know I'm going to make you pay me back for that information, right?

Well, so far we know that at least two of the people here arrived on the 103rd floor of the Empire State Building. It's too small of a sample size to say that it's significant, but I will make inquiries with the others to add more data points.

Sure, whatever. So far, all I know is that everyone brought here was in Japan when they were taken.
